1 Corinthians 3:11 says in the (NASB95) translation. For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the only way to Unity.
We, the Disciples of Jesus, must be One with Jesus before Unity is formed.
Jesus prays a powerful prayer in John 17:20–21 using the (NLT)
“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.
The Trinity is the supreme example of unity. We find this in the Genesis creation. What we find interesting is the creation of Humans. Our foundation was built on an exact representation of the Trinity.
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” ~Genesis 1:26 (NASB95)
Our image, according to Our likeness in verse 26 Image is the Hebrew word צֶלֶם ṣelem meaning a shadow.
Likeness is the Hebrew word דְּמוּת demûṯ. This word is often used to create a simile by comparing two unlike things, such as the wickedness of people and the venom of a snake.
