“My sheep hear My voice!”
John 10:27 “My sheep hear My Voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
I have people ask me the question, “How do you hear Jesus’ voice?”
I tell them that it is a training process.
Here is an example:
I have operated many Church sound systems since the 1980s. The systems were fundamental and easy to use, unlike today’s sound systems, which are very advanced.
To master a sound system, you must teach your ears to hear everything. You must listen to every instrument and voice, then use the system board volume switches to control each item individually as they come out of the main speakers.
Drums are more challenging unless they have a sound enclosure around them. Without sound shields, the drummer’s hard or soft hitting of the items controls the sound. Human voices are like drums because humans have a volume control and can speak or sing loud or soft, both make the technician adjust them more so it all sounds good.
Indeed, there is way more to it, but the instruments are the foundation; the more instruments there are, the harder it is to hear them all.
A lot more involvement but I think you have a grasp.
It is the same process to learn how to hear Jesus’ voice. Humans are bombarded with a massive amount of outside noise, which must be filtered out by God’s sound system, “His Spirit & His Word.”
Once you receive His word through the Holy Spirit, the power behind the Human sound system, God’s Word will separate the noise so you can pinpoint what Jesus is saying.
The Word of God is our foundation, and the Holy Spirit is our guide. If you don’t open up and read His Word you don’t give the Spirit in you anything to work with.
So many rely on pastors and teachers, which is why everyone believes differently. Teachers and pastors are only here because we don’t give it all and live in the Spirit.
Jesus even told His disciples that the things Moses taught were because of hard human hearts.
Another way to learn to Hear His Voice is to sit outside; any place would do, close your eyes, and write down everything you hear. Try to write without opening your eyes. You can figure it out when you are finished.
You will be amazed by what you hear. We live within a mile of the local zoo, and we hear all kinds of animals: peacocks, lions roaring, and so much more.
All of it is to train your ear to hear as the Holy Spirit teaches you how God’s Word guides us.
An unknown author said: “The income of God’s Word is the outcome of a changed life.”
This is so true. You can tell how much people allow the Holy Spirit to guide the Word they take in and show them how to use Jesus in their lives.
Remember the Holy Spirit can only use what He has to work with.
