Scripture can be truly lost in translation. The sad part is the biblical thought of Christ is also lost.
In Genesis 1:1 using the NASB95 it says “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
What is lost is using the word “beginning.” Beginning is the Hebrew word רֵאשִׁית – transliterated as rēʾš̌iyṯ: It is a noun meaning the firstfruits. Occurring fifty-one times in the Old Testament, this term holds the honor of being the first word written in the entire Bible.
What does the word beginning mean to you? What does Firstfruit mean to you? You can interpet beginning as many ways you choose, but if you have been taught the True Word you should have a clear understanding as to what Firstfruit is all about.
I want to move into the New Testament.
John 1:1–2 (NASB95) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
The word beginning here is the Greek word ἀρχή transliterated archḗ and means firstfruit. Christ is called “the Firstfruit” because He is the efficient cause of the creation; “the head” because He is before all things, and all things were created by Him and for Him.
Lexicons, dictionaries, commentaries, and translations all have a base in human interpretations, and many of them still use beginning, but this is not the base foundation of Jesus. The only Spirit inspired Word is the original papurs.
You have a more balanced Truth by taking these biblical words and translating them instead of interpreting them. Remember Faith is belief in Truth, Jesus is Truth and everything must point to Him in order to believe.
Jesus is the Firstfruit of everything. Jesus talks all the time about fruit. The Fruit of the Spirit is Jesus, you can’t operate with ἀγάπη transliterated agápē without the Holy Spirit.
Romans 5:5 (NASB95) Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
The branches in the vine, you can’t produce fruit unless you are engrafted in Jesus.
I pray that your desire to have Jesus as #1 in everything.
