Faith is a word used by disciples of Jesus and the world. Not many understand what the English word faith truly means, and means something 100% different to the Body of Christ and the world.
The base of the word typically means that we believe in whatever we want for our lives and directions.
The world says “have faith”, and can cover a wide range of items we need to believe for.
This is typically a worldly view. The view of the church is any must be understood to be 100% different.
Let’s look at the Greek word for faith.
πίστιςpístis and means belief in the Truth with a capitol “T.” The Truth references 100% to Jesus, The Word.
The Word includes everything created by the Word, the written Word, and Spoken Word. When we believe in Truth, act on it it will quicken our mortal body.
Romans 8:10–11 (NASB95) If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
When he says the Spirit will quicken our mortal bodies, it is talking about imparting the qualities of God’s life into the deadness of this mortal body. That includes healing, health, strength, vitality, etc. It lifts up our mortal bodies from the death that reigns on this fallen earth.
